“Thin places”, according Celtic to lore, are locations where the barrier between the physical and spiritual realm is thin. I have returned to this concept often in my work, this time taking it to California. This is an abstract representation of towering Pacific coast kelp forests, which contain endless life: cold, swift ocean currents, red and green kelp, and gray and white mist and fog. Mist cuts through in striations, blurring the barrier.
